Viola x wittrockiana Jolly Joker

Gold Medal

The startling new colour combination of bright orange and deep purple draws attention to the Viola wittrockiana 'Jolly Joker'. It flowers nearly all year round, whatever the weather.

Jolly Joker is also the recipient of the All-America Selections award for performance in North American trials.

In detail

Fleuroselect Gold Medal winning Pansy Jolly Joker exhibits a startling new colour combination of bright orange and deep purple. Never before has any pansy been introduced which created such a dramatic and unusual effect. The intense orange of the lower petals of the flowers is sharply contrasted by the deep purple of the upper ones, which often forms an edge around the whole flower. Professional bedding plant producers will be able to have flowering plants ready for sale in Autumn and Spring for planting in flower beds, tubs and window boxes. Home gardeners can raise Jolly Joker just as easily as other pansies, by sowing in late Summer (for Autumn and Spring flowers) and again in Spring for Summer flowers. Like all Pansies,Jolly Joker'is perennial and can be encouraged to flower from Spring to Autumn, if the plants are trimmed back with garden shears after a big flush of blooms.
