Bellis perennis Robella

Gold Medal

Bellis perennis is a perennial, early-flowering bedding plant.  Robella was awarded the Fleuroselect Gold Medal in 1994 for the most attractive and the largest flowers of its sort. Bellis perennis `Robella' was the first real perennial to be awarded a Gold Medal by Fleuroselect. (This honour has been given a number of times to pansies.) It is now possible to plant out completely a splendid, flowering, spring garden with only Fleuroselect varieties. `Robella' really deserves a central place in your spring garden, not only because of its striking beauty, but also because of the comparative obscurity of Bellis.

In detail

Bellis is an early-flowering bedding plant that is actually more common than it is often recognized to be. Fleuroselect awarded the new cultivation `Robella' a Gold Medal for the most attractive and the largest flowers of its sort. This should increase the recognition of the Bellis amongst plant lovers. Sown in the summer and planted out in September, `Robella' flowers with astonishing splendour from March to June. Together with pansies and forget-me-nots, a real spring flowering variety. Bellis perennis Robella is also the first, seed-grown bedding plant to be awarded a Gold Medal by Fleuroselect, the international organization of seed companies. (This honour has been given a number of times to pansies.) It is now possible to plant out completely a glorious, flowering, spring garden with only Fleuroselect varieties. `Robella' really deserves a central place in your spring garden, because of its striking beauty and also because of the comparative obscurity of Bellis. The name Bellis means "beautiful perennial". Robella is by far the most beautiful of its species, with its large flowers, captivating salmon-pink colour and excellent flowering throughout its season it adds early colour to your garden.
