This breeding breakthrough displays stunning single to double flowers which radiate in all shades of red, ranging from scarlet to wine, and contrast beautifully to the dark pinnata leaves.

Growing:

Black Forest Ruby can be grown in pots or directly sown in the garden. For pot production, sow seeds at 20°C in moist soil covered with a thin layer of potting soil. Start sowing for garden trials in early May. Germination occurs at 80% efficiency under 20°C; after emergence, maintain a cooler temperature of 18°C. Transplant seedlings 21 days after sowing. Planting out should take place in late May, as this half-hardy variety requires warm conditions. or cut flowers, expect a 7-day vase life with flower food.
