Fleuroselect is proud to introduce the next Star in Shasta Daisy! This new variety from seed has been developed to be competitive versus the latest cuttingraised varieties. Madonna not only looks wonderful in pots and containers but also gives an incredible result in beds or landscaping. This Leucanthemum is easy to care for, builds new flowers over the fading ones and flowers from summer to early autumn.

A Gold Medal is awarded to a breakthrough in breeding. Madonna is a highly improved Shasta Daisy from seed that offers a genuine alternative to the vegetative varieties. Thanks to the improved uniformity in height and habit, the jury members were unanimous in handing out the Medal for 2020 to Madonna, the new idol in Leucanthemum!

Fleuroselect is proud to register the birth of Baby Rose, Takii’s latest new-born in non-trailing Tropaeolum. Like other Nasturtiums, Baby Rose is an excellent home garden performer. Thanks to its very compact plant habit, Takii also foresees new commercial possibilities in pack and pot production.

With its new deep-rose flower colour and small dark-green foliage, Baby Rose is an exciting addition to the existing seed packet assortment to cover larger outside spaces and landscapes. The jury appreciated the very compact habit, the innovative colour and also clearly saw the potential
of this new variety as a pot item awarding a Gold Medal for 2020. Baby Rose, the upcoming success in Nasturtium is born.

Sibella makes large plants that are just perfect for baskets and containers in spring or ideal as an all-round bedding and terrace plant in summer. The plants are selfcleaning, flowers do not scatter and no deadheading is needed.

“What an intense purple-red colour!” and “The bright flowers and early flowering are unique” were some of the remarks in the jury reports. Highly impressed with the intense colour, bright semi-double flowers and early flowering, the judges were united in awarding this Silene with a Gold Medal. Van Hemert & Co. has succeeded in breeding a dwarf Calendula for commercial growers. Calexis Orange presents a brand new flower shape and its beautiful double cactus flowers with rolled petals in a striking orange surround the contrasting dark brown centre. Calendula is a hardy annual, and hardened-off plants will survive some light frost, in winter or early spring.

A Gold Medal symbolises a genuine breakthrough in breeding. The Fleuroselect jury highly appreciated Van Hemert’s breeding performance in achieving a unique cactus shaped flower on a compact plant with excellent growing performance and therefore awards Calexis Orange with a Gold Medal for 2019.

After winning a Gold Medal for Dalaya Yogi in 2013, Selecta one’s expertise in Dahlia breeding is recognised again for the latest addition in the Dalaya series: Amba. With its large, semi-double dark red flowers and attractive black centre, Amba is really the mother of garden meditation. Stunning in borders, this new Dahlia also looks fantastic in pots and containers.

A Gold Medal stands for a true breakthrough in breeding and Dalaya Amba fits the bill. The Fleuroselect jury was highly impressed by the strikingly large semi-double dark red flowers and darker bronze foliage. The variety branches well and has shorter flower stems.
