Invitation

Dear member,
Willkommen in Österreich! We are delighted to invite you to the 53rd Fleuroselect Annual Convention which will be held in stunning Salzburg, Austria from 2 - 4 July 2024. Our long-standing members Florensis and Selecta one proudly invite you to visit their Austrian partners Renner Jungpflanzen and Gastager Gartenbau. Read on to discover what we have in store for you!

For members arriving early afternoon on Tuesday 2nd of July, there is an optional guided tour through Salzburg at 15:00 hrs which takes you the most beautiful photo spots in the city of Mozart and provides information on the city's musical, cultural and historical highlights. In the evening, we are meeting up for a get-together grill night dinner at Hotel ARCOTEL Castellani to launch the 2024 edition of our convention!

On Wednesday we have an early departure to Gastager Gartenbau, a company founded in 1929 which has since grown into a modern and innovative Austrian young plants company focused on sustainability, modernisation, and simplification. We will be welcomed by the CEO, Stefan Gastager and receive an introduction to the history, current activities and future plans of this family company.

The second presentation of the day deals with the Austrian ornamental market. This country is known for its vast green nature and endless mountain ranges, but how do these impact the ornamental market?

Our morning concludes with a visit to the Gastager nursery and container trial field, which exposes a large part of the product range to natural weather conditions ensuring that endurance and seasonal performance of individual varieties can be assessed in an optimal way.

After a lunch with local delicacies, we leave the city and head for Lake Wolfgang where we will enjoy some of the finest elements of Austrian nature. After crossing Lake Wolfgang by boat, we will climb the infamous Schafberg by cog railway, take in the marvellous scenery from above and enjoy the views once more during the descent. We will walk to the renown Hotel im weissen Rössl where drinks and a lakeside dinner will be waiting for us.

The next day, we will make our first stop at Renner Jungpflanzen, partner of Florensis in Austria. The two partners jointly distribute the Florensis product range, along with that of other suppliers, to the Austrian market. In addition to this cooperation, Renner Jungpflanzen also has an interesting subsidiary part. Renner Print Media focusses solely on plant marketing and advertising producing labels, flyers, catalogues, displays and many more

We will visit the well-known Renner show garden which will include a Fleuroselect trial field especially set up for this event. We conclude our first half of the day with a delicious lunch and head back for the hotel.

Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting will take place at 15.00 hrs in the conference center of our hotel. Topics on the agenda will include this year's annual review, the budget for 2025, an overview of the current activities as well as FleuroVision and future activities. Applicant members will have the opportunity to introduce themselves after which a vote is cast upon acceptance.

We round off our convention at M32, a restaurant located atop the Mönchsberg in the Museum der Moderne, which offers stunning panoramic views of the old town of Salzburg and in particular its famous fortress Hohensalzburg. After the drinks and closing dinner, we will hand over the 2025 Gold Medals.

PARTNER PROGRAMME
Partners will have the opportunity to enjoy many of the city's historical/cultural elements. On the first morning during the visit to Gastager Gartenbau, a city tour of Salzburg on the western river side is offered walking past the famous Getreidegasse, cathedral and Mozart house. On the second day during the Annual General Meeting, the guide will take you to the other river side where you will visit the stunning Schloss Mirabel and adjacent park.
