Invitation
Dear colleague,
Fleuroselect is pleased to invite you to attend the 11th Breeders and Young Plant Producers Conference that will take place on 4th & 5th December 2018 at the Van der Valk Hotel Veenendaal, The Netherlands. This year's event has been organised in the Wageningen area at the invitation of KeyGene, the AgBiotech company and the main theme will be "Science in Horticulture".
Dr. Deborah Nas, Professor Strategic Design for technology-based Innovation at Delft University of Technology will kick off the programme with a presentation on disruptive technologies in horticulture. Erik Pekkeriet, Business Development Manager Agro Food Robotics Wageningen University will then inform us on the latest evolution in Agricultural Robots and Smart Farming. After lunch we take the bus to KeyGene where Anker Sørensen, Vice-president New Business, will introduce the afternoon programme "Innovation in Breeding" and explain KeyGene's crop innovation platforms. This will be followed by a number of speakers invited by KeyGene including Ruud Brinkkemper of Ball Horticultural company as a Breeder from our industry and Royal Lemkes as a partner in the Value Chain. A tour of the impressive KeyGene facilities will also be included.
The next day after breakfast, we immediately head for the Wageningen University and a demonstration of the Robotic LAB-Trail in small groups. We return to the hotel to continue the programme with a company presentation, a well-established element of all our conferences and finally a Group Discussion introduced by the WUR (Wageningen University and Research) on Sustainable Production. The conference will end with lunch in the hotel.
