Invitation
Fleuroselect is delighted to invite you to attend the 12th Breeders and Young Plant Producers Conference that will take place on 3rd and 4th December 2019 at the Inntel Hotel in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This year's event is being organised in cooperation with Signify.
Their mission is to unlock the extraordinary potential of light for brighter lives and a better world and we start the conference with an inspirational opening address from Nicola Kimm, VP Sustainability, Environment, Health & Safety. This is followed by our second guest speaker Huib Herbert of Vyverberg consultants who we welcome to present the topic "Worldwide Energy Trends".
After lunch the remainder of the first day will be spent developing the theme of LED in horticulture with whistle stop visits to a number of key greenhouse installations in the Rotterdam/Westland area. This will be followed by a visit to the LED trials at the WUR location in Bleiswijk where we will also gather information on Greenhouse 2030.
At the invitation of Signify, the evening networking dinner will take place in the trendy art-nouveau Zalmhuis restaurant at the foot of the Van Brienenoordbrug with an inspirational view over the Ijssel and the Maas.
The second day of the conference is dedicated to the theme: “Are we ready for retail”. We are regularly asked to investigate this topic and this year we have asked a keynote speaker Max Thinius to get the ball rolling. Max is one of Europe’s leading futurologists with a focus on society, sustainability, business and trade and as his wife is a florist, he can’t wait to inspire us!
This will be followed by presentations and a group discussion with retail experts. Speakers include Frank van der Aar, Commercial Manager at Sakata (previously employed at Bloom and Intergreen) and Tim Clapp, Head of Range Horticulture and Garden of Kingfisher U.K.
Of course our conference wouldn’t be complete without a company presentation and Mr. Dai Harada who was unfortunately unable to attend last year, will enlighten us about the breeding done to create Miyoshi’s World of Flowers.
We look forward as always to welcoming you to a programme of speakers, visits and networking which we hope will be inspirational.
