Phlox drummondii belongs to the polemoniaceae family and is native to Texas, while Phlox in general is native to North America. It goes by the common name of Annual Phlox. The name Phlox means, “flame” in Greek, referring to the bright colours of its blooms. The tightly massed flower heads come in rose, crimson, scarlet, pink, pale yellow, violet, or white. They often have contrasting eyes.
