Benary proudly introduces the first genetically compact Grandiflora Petunia with a star pattern. Petunia x hybrida Success! HD Rose Star shows a multitude of flowers with a unique colour pattern in this type of Petunia. This winner not only performs well in pots and hanging baskets, but also looks wonderful in the beds and is a new addition to the Success! Series which stands for uniform flowering plants with very large flowers in vivid, enchanting colours.
The Gold Medal symbolises a breakthrough in breeding and this Petunia clearly fits the bill. The Fleuroselect jury was highly impressed with Benary’s achievement in breeding a star pattern in a genetically compact Petunia and saw the strong market potential of this new variety. The Fleuroselect organisation is therefore delighted to recognise Success! HD Rose Star with this prestigious award.
Market Value
Rose Star is a one-of-a-kind addition to any existing genetic compact Petunia growing scheme and completes the producer’s colour range. The HD in the name stands for High Density, meaning that lots of plants can be grown on a small surface. Retail will love the idea of offering this popular star pattern now also in compact, big-flowered Petunia. The magnificent colour combination and plant vigour also in cooler climates such as North-Western Europe will convince any consumer. Success! HD Rose Star, the next sensation in compact Grandiflora Petunia.
Background Information
Petunia is genus of South American origin from the Solanaceae family. The popular flower of the same name derived its epithet from the French, which took the word petun, meaning “tobacco,” from a Tupi– Guarani language. Most of the varieties are hybrid annuals. With Success! HD series, Benary has created its first series of dwarf grandiflora Petunia.
