Petunia 'Viva Fluor-Rose 2006 is a very versatile plant. Indoors, this new semi-trailing petunia steals the show as a pot plant, just as well as it does as the centre plant in a hanging basket. Outdoors ' Viva Fluor-Rose 2006 is possibly even more eye-catching in beds, containers and tubs. Just like indoors it also thrives in a hanging basket outdoors. This semi-trailer not just flowers abundantly but also early. All these positive qualities made it easy for the Fleuroselect judges to award Petunia ' Viva Fluor-Rose 2006 a Gold Medal 2006.
In detail
After the breakthrough of extremely rich flowering trailing petunias in the nineties, it seems as if the developments in the Petunia segment happen faster all the time. Since then, many series have been introduced. These breeding efforts are not just valued by the consumer, but certainly appreciated by the Fleuroselect judges. Gold Medals were awarded to the petunias 'Blue Wave' (2003) and 'Lavender Wave' (2002). Viva Fluor-Rose 2006 was honoured with a Gold Medal 2006. This new semi-trailing petunia is not only earlyto flower, but also very abundantly flowering from mid May until the second half of October. Large lilac-pink flowers of at least 7 cm in diameter make this plant is a genuine 'beauty'. The judge's' report also refered to 'Viva Fluor-Rose 2006 as '"a very beautiful and strong product that is easy to grow', 'rainproof' and 'a beautiful variety with a new flower colour'". Semi-trailing 'Viva Fluor-Rose 2006 grows to about 25 cm in height and a 60 cm spread. Planted in a pot it becomes an almost floating cloud of sheer flowers. Planted out in the garden, four plants per square meter are sufficient to achieve an uninterrupted full spread of lilac pink flowers.
